Two minutes inside a 500-degree tunnel. For anyone, that would be the end.
For the Tianlang Q25, nicknamed “Sky Wolf”, it was barely a test. The Chinese company Wuba Intelligent sent this wolf-shaped robot, covered in a heat-resistant suit, to a tunnel fire drill: one of the deadliest scenarios that exist, where toxic smoke accumulates within seconds and visibility disappears completely.
As it walked through the fire, the robot detected dangerous gases, located the source of the fire and searched for trapped people, tasks that would normally expose a firefighter to severe burns or worse. Thanks to its four legs, it can climb over rubble, go up damaged stairs and even get back up on its own if it falls, something wheeled robots have never managed.
CCTV confirmed the test on September 15, 2026. Tianlang has already been included in China’s official catalog of emergency equipment. The next time someone goes into a fire first, perhaps it won’t be human.
