It all happened on a Juventus flight during the 2014-15 season. Evra went to the airplane bathroom and found Fernando Llorente crying in the last seat. He feared the worst: a family tragedy. The truth was different: the Spanish striker was crying while watching a movie, something that had already happened to him before. Unable to believe it, Evra told Carlos Tévez in confidence. The joke did not end there.
When they got off the plane, in front of the entire dressing room, the teasing became public. And that moment, according to Evra himself, was decisive: his teammates’ constant mockery pushed Llorente to leave Juventus for Sevilla in August 2015. The Frenchman now admits it without filtering his words: it was a case of bullying disguised as a joke, fueled by the toxic masculinity that dominates football dressing rooms.
