Polyana Viana, a 26-year-old Brazilian UFC fighter known as “The Iron Lady,” was waiting for an Uber one January night in front of her home in Jacarepaguá, Rio de Janeiro.
An unknown man approached her asking the time, and seconds later demanded her cellphone, claiming he had a weapon. Viana noticed something strange: the object felt too soft to be metal. She didn’t think twice and attacked first, with strikes and a chokehold she had learned through years of professional training.
When the police arrived, the man’s face was disfigured, and he was the one asking them to detain him before she could continue. 😅
