Cristiano Ronaldo spoke in an interview attributed to CNN, in which he candidly shared his thoughts. This came just as Portugal sanctioned him for leaving the national team.
“If someone prefers Messi, Pelé or Maradona, it’s a matter of taste. I respect that (…) People don’t value my form or my goals. The numbers speak for themselves”.
The Portuguese player backed it up on his personal account: 980 goals in 1.337 matches. He also said that the public doesn’t value his form or his goals enough.
The three names he mentioned are the ones debated endlessly at every football table on the planet. Does he have a point in claiming his place among them, or has he fallen short of them?
