On June 11, Chipotle announced that any customer who showed up wearing a soccer jersey would get a free entree with the purchase of another. Simple. But no one specified that the jersey had to be official. 😏

That’s when customers put all their creativity to work. White shirts, ink markers, and lots of creativity: within minutes, photos appeared of ‘Messi 10,’ ‘Ronaldo 7,’ and other names written by hand, with varying levels of penmanship, taped on or drawn over whatever they had closest at hand.

The promo went viral not because of the burritos, but because of people’s overflowing creativity. Would you have bought a jersey or pulled out the marker? 🌯
