The former Uruguayan striker, Darío Silva, recalled that he liked going out at night so much that he ended up buying the nightclub he usually went to: “I really liked the nightlife, so I bought myself a nightclub”.
According to his account, he made the decision because he did not want to keep paying admission: “When I was playing in Málaga, I said, “I’m going to keep paying admission,” so I bought it”.

The most unusual thing is how he managed to balance that nightlife with professional football. Silva said that “we would stay out until 6 in the morning, then have some mate and go to training at 8”.
All so he could then sleep all afternoon: “After that, I would sleep all afternoon—I had nothing to do”. The kind of life only a footballer can lead.

And despite that unusual routine, he said with a laugh that it was his best season: “It was my best year; we qualified for the UEFA Cup”.
In Málaga, in fact, he reached a high level and ended up becoming the club’s second-highest all-time scorer in the Primera División, with 36 goals.
