Cinépolis launched a Supergirl collectible cup with a skin-colored trench coat that, seen from a certain angle, looks quite a bit like something that shouldn’t be on a movie theater menu. 😳 Social media spotted it immediately, and the item became a global meme before it reached the first customer.

Then someone had the brilliant idea of showing it to the actors at the New York premiere on June 23. David Corenswet — who plays Superman, in case the heroic context is needed — looked at the cup, processed it, and delivered two lines that are already historic: “I don’t like that one bit” and “I don’t understand, and I don’t think I want it explained.” Nicholas Hoult, on the other hand, went to the opposite extreme: “I need a lot of those” and started saying “It reminds me of…” before Corenswet cut him off with a textbook “No no no no no”. 😂

The video, captured by Entertainment Tonight, took approximately zero seconds to go viral. Superman refusing explanations about a drink cup is exactly the energy the Supergirl launch needed, arriving in theaters on June 26. Nobody planned this marketing. And yet, here we are. 🦸
