Wyley Simpson had been injecting testosterone for six years when he discovered that he was pregnant.

He was 27 years old, lived in San Antonio, Texas, and worked as a veterinary technician. His partner, Stephan Gaeth, also 27 and a yoga and dance teacher, had met him on Grindr without imagining that they would end up forming an unconventional family. Wyley considered abortion, considered adoption, and finally everything changed when he saw the first ultrasound. Both the Pride Clinic and his gynecologist confirmed something that says a great deal about how little explored this subject still is: he was their first pregnant male patient.

Today Stephan and Wyley are the biological parents of Rowan Fox, and they decided to raise him away from any conventional idea of home. They are vegan artists and live in a motorhome that once caught fire and is now, once again, their refuge on wheels. On a Texas road, a baby is learning that family has no single way of existing.
