Rishabh Kaushik ordered his dinner on a Sunday at 22:58 h in Gurugram, India. Everything was normal until the Zomato tracker froze: the delivery person’s location did not move for 40 minutes.
So he went out to see what was happening. And there he was: the delivery person, alongside another man, eating his order from Khadak Singh Da Dhaba restaurant straight from the packages. Kaushik managed to photograph the half-eaten food before the scene dissolved. He then uploaded everything to X, tagged Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal, and spoke of a ‘shared food economy’ that no one had asked him to share.
The stories multiplied: some media outlets said the delivery person was eating the order, while others said he had sold it to two strangers for barely 100 rupees. Zomato Care responded by asking for the order number to investigate, without confirming anything yet. The app said the food was on its way. Only the journey ended in someone else’s stomach.
