At first glance, it’s just a bug stuck to a pane of glass. But many users have pointed out that on its back there is… a lion wearing sunglasses!

The Answer

If you still can’t see it, don’t feel bad. The “lion” is formed by the green and brown pigmentation patterns on the back of the upper thoracic segments. The two dark green patches are the “sunglasses,” and the brown lines around them form the snout and mane. Once you see it, it’s hard to “unsee” it.

The Scientific Explanation: Pareidolia

This phenomenon is not proof of superintelligence, but of how our brain works. It’s called PAREIDOLIA.

Reddit

It is the tendency of the human brain to find familiar patterns, especially faces, in random objects or unrelated textures. It is an evolutionary survival mechanism; our brain is programmed to recognize faces instantly for social interaction and danger detection.

That’s why we see faces in the clouds, the face on the Moon, or a lion in a bug.
It’s your brain trying to bring order to visual chaos.
