Neve and Louie came into the world earlier than expected, on March 8, 2021, after an emergency C-section at 30 weeks’ gestation in Liverpool, England.
During the pregnancy, their mother, Laura Hough, had received devastating news: doctors feared Neve would not survive, as her placenta was deteriorating and she was not receiving enough nutrients.

However, both were born. Neve, who weighed just 652 grams, was able to breathe on her own, while Louie developed serious lung complications and needed urgent medical care.
The siblings had to remain separated for approximately two weeks, until the medical staff finally allowed them to share an incubator.
That was when a scene that moved their parents took place: the little ones began hugging, intertwined their legs, and even held hands.

Their mother, who had spent weeks fearing she would lose her daughter, could not hold back her tears when she saw them together again. Photographs of that reunion went around the world. ❤️
