A serious case of medical negligence is shaking the private healthcare sector after a metallic object forgotten in a patient’s abdomen was discovered.
The 53-year-old affected patient underwent a tummy tuck in October 2025 at the Villa delle Querce clinic located in the city of Naples. After spending 7 months with unbearable pain and infections that required antibiotics, another institution detected the instrument through a diagnostic test.
Italian police are investigating the incident while the victim, whose identity was withheld by the medical institutions, seeks legal support from the Domenico Caliendo Foundation.
