Jacob King was born in the United States with a severe congenital condition, similar to hydranencephaly, in which much of the cerebral hemispheres fails to form. The prognosis was unequivocal: he would not live for more than an hour. His parents held him, expecting the worst.
That hour passed, as did the days and years. Jacob grew up, got married, and today travels from church to church with his wife, sharing his story through Sons of Righteousness Ministries and in his book “Born Without a Brain”. He attributes it to a divine miracle. Medicine offers another explanation: his brainstem remained intact, sustaining vital functions, while the remaining tissue developed an uncommon degree of plasticity.
Science or faith, the fact is that Jacob is still standing where no one expected him to even walk.
