She had an IUD when she found out she was pregnant, amid a separation and the changes that came with her first experience of motherhood. Today Lara is 13, and Samara, 47, isn’t afraid to talk about how it all began.
She said it for the first time in 2023 and repeated it now on the program “Em Off”: she doesn’t like the role of being a mother. It’s not that she doesn’t love her daughters, Lara and 17-year-old Alicia. It’s that she’s tired of pretending motherhood is only tenderness, when it also means exhaustion, guilt, and a list of responsibilities no one explains to you before you sign. 💛
