Some passersby saw him lying next to Route 69 in Wolcott, Connecticut, and thought he was a lifeless body. They approached to confirm it, and the dog could barely get up before collapsing again. 🐶

Local police arrived at the scene, and what they found was even more shocking: the animal, whom they named Tony, had his body covered with more than 890 ticks. His ears were so infested that they looked black inside, and his skin showed wounds and punctures everywhere.

At Mack & Molly’s Pet Parlor, the team spent four and a half hours removing every tick, one by one. Tony tested negative for Lyme disease, although he is anemic and remains on antibiotic treatment. Despite everything he went through, he wags his tail and approaches people to socialize. Now all he needs is to find a home that will welcome him as he deserves. 🏡
