Some dogs with health problems use special chairs known as “Bailey chairs”, designed to help them eat safely. This is the case of this little dog, which suffers from megaesophagus, a disease that makes it difficult for food to reach the stomach properly.

However, some internet users criticized his owner for “torturing” the animal, not knowing that it suffers from this disease. Comments like “this seems wrong” or “this is not normal, it is torture” spread widely on social media.

The chairs keep the dog seated upright while it eats and for several minutes after feeding. In this way, gravity helps the food go down properly, reducing the risk of choking or regurgitation.

Each chair is adapted to the size of the animal and works similarly to a baby chair. Although the method is simple, many owners say it significantly improves their pets’ quality of life.
