Rex stopped greeting visitors.
For nearly three years, he lived at the Vanderpump Dogs Foundation shelter in Los Angeles, waiting for someone to choose him. At first, he would run toward the fence every time a visitor approached. Over time, he stopped doing so. The thousand days of waiting had taught him that almost no one comes back.
Nima Nasseri, a music agent, saw him during one of his visits to the shelter and could not forget him. On November 3, 2024, he uploaded a video to his TikTok account, Save the Dogs, telling the story of that dog who no longer even wagged his tail. The clip went viral within hours.
Someone saw him, drove to the shelter, and took him home. Today, Rex jumps, runs, and greets people again, this time someone who has no intention of returning him. His new life was documented on the account @The_Mouse2021, where every video is proof that the wait was, finally, worth it.
