Ginger wasn’t rejected for being aggressive. She was rejected for being too sweet. 💔
Her owner took her to the veterinarian to have her euthanized because, according to her, “she wasn’t a good guard dog”. But the veterinarian saw a healthy, affectionate dog wagging her tail, and refused to put her down.
Ginger ended up in an overcrowded shelter, where she was once again at risk. She hadn’t done anything wrong: she just wasn’t the alarm someone expected. Luckily, Sidewalk Specials rescued her in time, and she was finally adopted by a man who gave her a home where her sweetness was truly welcome.
Because a dog is not a tool to be discarded when it no longer “serves a purpose”. It is a life that trusts us. 🐾
