Gemma Sabaté didn’t expect to have them removed after 18 years.
According to her account, she got them after hearing they could last about 50 years. For a while, she was happy with her decision; later, the implants began to become encapsulated and rotate. After 18 years, the capsule ruptured, and she had to have them urgently removed for health reasons.
Gemma says she also experienced discomfort, disappointment, and recurring expenses, though she acknowledges that other women are happy with their implants. A professional who performs breast ultrasounds recommended that she not get them again.
Her experience does not predict everyone else’s or replace a medical consultation: before making a decision, it’s worth asking about risks, checkups, and possible complications. “You are not your boobs”, she sums it up.
