“I went through hell”, Kenya recounted, remembering what she heard while she was in a coma.
Her mother thought that playing music for her could keep her company during that period, but upon waking, Kenya revealed that she could indeed perceive what was playing around her and that she ended up completely fed up with hearing it over and over again.
According to her, the experience was far less comforting than her family imagined. Although she appeared unconscious from the outside, she says she could hear the music, and that constant repetition ultimately became maddening.
That is why, when she was able to talk about what she had been through, she made a fairly clear recommendation: “Don’t play music for people in comas”.
What her mother intended as a way to keep her company ended up being part of an experience that Kenya remembers as a true hell.
