Egypt’s national team experienced an unexpected and tense situation ahead of its match against Australia in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup.

It all happened at the team’s hotel, when a group of fans tried to approach the players to ask for photos and autographs. The police intervention to control the situation led to a heated argument
The conflict quickly escalated with shoving, shouting, and insults. In the footage, Ibrahim Hassan, Egypt’s assistant coach, can be heard forcefully shouting: “Don’t push me!”.
Meanwhile, another team member questions an officer’s actions with a “Are you crazy?”. In the end, other people stepped in to calm tensions and prevent the altercation from escalating further.
Despite the incident, no arrests or sanctions were reported, although the episode caused a major stir just hours before a decisive match for Egypt.
