Drake bet 1.5 million dollars on Argentina, the ‘curse’ struck again and Spain won in extra time

1.5 million dollars. That was the amount Drake put on the line betting on Argentina in the 2026 World Cup final, only to see it vanish in the 106th minute of extra time.

The Canadian rapper shared proof of his bet on social media nearly a day before the match, confident in an Argentina victory.

But Spain claimed the title thanks to a goal by Ferran Torres, just after Enzo Fernández received his second yellow card and left Argentina with ten players on the field.

It is not the first time it has happened: in the 2024 Copa América, he lost 300 thousand dollars betting on Canada against Argentina, and even in Qatar 2022, when Argentina did become champions, he ended up losing money because of how the match was decided.

The ‘Drake curse’ is already almost a tradition at every World Cup.
