DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER TRYING TO RUN OVER A CHILD ON A BICYCLE WITH HER CAR ON THE SIDEWALK
A public safety video has left the community of Spokane, Washington in shock. The footage shows a gray vehicle mounting the sidewalk and chasing at full speed after a minor who was pedaling desperately to save his life.
The premeditated attack
Eyewitnesses reported that the woman, whose identity is already in the hands of the sheriff’s office, was in a state of extreme agitation. Before the boy appeared on the scene, the driver was already yelling and honking erratically through the neighborhood. When she saw the child on his bicycle, she decided to go after him, ignoring all traffic laws and the child’s safety.
Criminal charges
Thanks to neighbors who came out into the street and got the child to safety before calling 911, the tragedy was avoided by mere inches. Spokane police confirmed the woman’s arrest on charges of:
- Aggravated assault.
- Trespassing on private property.
- Reckless driving.
