During a visit by the Netherlands national team to a children’s oncology hospital, Dutch forward Noah Ohio spoke with a sick child and asked who his favorite footballer was. The answer was immediate: Jude Bellingham.
Far from leaving it as just an anecdote, Ohio decided to try something special, since he has maintained a friendship with Bellingham ever since they were together in England’s youth national teams.
He took out his phone and called him right then and there. To everyone’s surprise, the Real Madrid midfielder answered the video call and spent a few minutes talking with the young fan.
Afterward, they even took a photograph with Bellingham appearing on the phone screen. The video went viral because it showed both Ohio’s gesture and Bellingham’s willingness to brighten the day of a child going through a difficult time.
