Turkish football is going through a new scandal, and the protagonist is Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson, who found himself at the center of a fierce dispute with the fans and the management of his current club.
The goalkeeper exploded after receiving insults directed at his family and left a phrase that further inflamed the conflict: he stated that he will not leave the institution until he collects the full amount of his contract.
“I cannot forget the insults to my wife and my children. I have a salary of 22 million until 2028. I will not terminate with Fenerbahce until I collect it all”, he told the press.
The tension had been growing for weeks because of the poor sporting form and the fans’ criticism, but everything would have escalated when part of the supporters’ group began verbally attacking his relatives.
That was when the Brazilian took a firm stance with the club’s executives: he refused to negotiate an early departure and demanded that all the agreed financial conditions be respected.
