For Jim Morgan, a 95-year-old grandfather, his dog Sandy was the last bridge connecting him to joy after his wife’s passing.
But sadly, that connection was broken in the cruelest way. During their daily walk in New Zealand, six dogs trained for fighting ambushed them. Jim, nearly deaf and blind, ended up on the ground trying to protect his friend from the pack.
Tragically, the little one didn’t survive his injuries. Most outrageously, the attackers’ owner was present and didn’t lift a finger while the elderly man fought for his pet’s life.
As a result, Jim was left completely alone and heartbroken, saying a final goodbye to the being who stood by him through his hardest years and for whom he was willing to give his life in the middle of the street. 💔
