Ethan Klein had his wife tattooed on his skin and, apparently, forgot to ask her opinion.

In late March 2025, the H3 Podcast host shared a hyperrealistic portrait of Hila Klein on social media, the work of Los Angeles tattoo artist Gabriel Vitug. Beside her face, a phrase: “The best thing a man can do for his children is love their mother”. According to Know Your Meme, the image may have come from a 2017 YouTube thumbnail.

During his stream, he was asked how she had reacted. His answer was straight out of a marriage survival manual: “She’s in shock. I told her she’ll like it in four weeks”. The timeline also made sense: a Reddit user explained that the shading was intentionally left dark so it would lighten over the following weeks.

The internet did its thing. Some applauded the devotion, others questioned why he hadn’t consulted her, and there was an avalanche of jokes, including one with another streamer’s face pasted over the portrait. And in July, a tweet attributed to Ethan announced a new tattoo, this time for his three children, with a clarification that says it all: “And yes, Hila approved this one”.
