He offered Eugenio Derbez the role of Felipe in “Jack and Jill” (2011), but the Mexican actor wanted more. He also offered to play the film’s grandmother, a character that required hours of makeup and facial prosthetics to transform him completely. No one in the room would have guessed that he was behind that old lady.
Derbez recently shared it on his Instagram, recalling that shoot with the nostalgia of someone who knows he did something special. He didn’t do it because of a contract or because he was asked to: he did it because he could, because he loved his craft so much that a single character was never enough for him.
