Zlatan didn’t think twice.

On a FOX program, the former Swedish striker spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo, who left Portugal’s camp at the age of 41 after clashing with coach Jorge Jesus. First, he showed respect: he praised his winning mentality and said football would miss him. Then came the criticism. “He doesn’t need to ruin the legacy he built with his ego”, he said.

For Zlatan, leaving camp without speaking to a single teammate was disrespectful. And he didn’t stop at criticizing him: he offered himself as an example. He was young, competed at the highest level, and then knew when to retire. He even recalled that Mourinho left him on the bench at Inter when he was at his peak, and he had to accept it.

He ended with a phrase that’s already making the rounds on social media: “Even lions know when the hunt is over”. Cristiano has not confirmed his retirement from the national team and has left the door open to sharing his side later. Advice from a legend or an unnecessary attack? 🦁
