Drew Barrymore was only 28 when she said a phrase that still makes the rounds online today.
“Do I like women sexually? Yes, totally. I’ve always considered myself bisexual”, she confessed in an interview with Contact Music. That statement wasn’t made in 2025, as many believed when they saw it resurface on social media: it’s more than two decades old. Snopes confirmed it after the recent uproar: there was no new announcement from the actress, but rather the return of words she herself repeated over the years.
Drew was always very liberal in her relationships, and in the ’90s she did everything she could to prove her point. Obviously, not all her kisses were romantic; sometimes they were simply a sign of her friendship. That’s what happened with Liv Tyler, and perhaps with countless other friendships that were never more than that and never came to light either.
For some, a kiss is a sign of an affair, but for Drew it’s simply a sign of deep trust.
