Kimberly Irene didn’t post that photo expecting to cause a stir.
But all it took was an angle, a pose, and a heavily filtered edit for social media to do its thing: hundreds of comments swore that the member of “Las Perdidas”, known as “La Más Preciosa”, was actually a Kardashian disguised as a Mexican.
The comparison didn’t come out of nowhere. Originally from León, Guanajuato, Kimberly has built much of her fame on Instagram —where she has more than 1.7 million followers— by playing precisely on that resemblance, to the point of publicly admitting that her goal is to become “the Mexican Kardashian”, surgeries included.
So when the photo went viral, no one on her team was particularly surprised. Kimberly has been deliberately cultivating that image for years, and this time the algorithm simply did her justice.
The question left hanging among her fans was a different one: at this rate, who will end up looking like whom?
