If your teeth are more yellow than normal, coffee may not be the only thing to blame. There are foods we consume every day that, little by little, can leave stains on the enamel without us realizing it.

Among the main culprits are four familiar ones: coffee, tea, red wine, and tomato sauce. They all have intense pigments that can stick to the surface of the teeth, especially when they are a regular part of your routine.

Coffee and tea usually get the blame because many people consume them daily. Red wine is not much help either, since it combines natural colorants with acidity. And tomato sauce, although it may seem like the most innocent of the group, can also contribute to teeth losing some of their shine over time.

That does not mean you have to give up your cup of coffee or stop eating pasta forever. But it does explain why some people notice changes in the color of their teeth even when they maintain good hygiene.

The good news is that simple habits, such as drinking water after consuming these foods and brushing your teeth regularly, can help reduce the effect of those stains before they become too noticeable.
