Rebecca Belote, from Georgia, remembers March 4, 2026, as the day she said goodbye to Cha Cha. Her 4-year-old pug was lethargic, excessively thirsty, and urinating frequently, and at Senoia Animal Hospital, they told her the dog had organ failure and diabetic ketoacidosis. According to Belote, the staff recommended euthanasia.

The family agreed and paid 716,50 dollars for euthanasia and communal cremation. Her 17-year-old son, who carried the dog everywhere and had matching sweatshirts with her, was devastated.

Months later, while browsing Facebook, Belote saw a photo of a pug and knew instantly: “That’s my little dog”. According to her, a former hospital employee confirmed that a worker had taken Cha Cha home, and the worker’s partner said the dog was doing better.

The hospital denies everything, and the woman claims the dog was euthanized to hide the truth. Rebecca filed a complaint with the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine. What would you have done?
