The heartbreaking news has China in mourning.
A famous Border Collie dog named Chutou, who had more than a million followers on social media, was stolen from his home with the worst possible outcome.
The dog ended up being sold for the sum of 25 dollars to a dog meat restaurant, where he was sadly cooked and eaten.
Upon learning of the tragedy, his devastated owner decided to sue those responsible; however, he has run into a huge wall due to the weak animal protection laws that exist in that country. The unfortunate incident has unleashed a wave of global outrage over the lack of justice for pets and the fear that, if something similar were to happen to anyone’s pet, there would be no law to protect them.
