According to local reports, the family justified the decision: Both kids went on a date and arrived at the girl’s house after 7:30 pm, which is completely forbidden in the village of Montong Praje.
The young girl’s parents forced the 15-year-old to propose marriage to their daughter, against the will of the boy’s parents. But they had no other option than to give in to the pressure from the girl’s relatives.
Organizations have warned that child marriage continues to be an ongoing problem in different parts of the world, mainly affecting girls.
