Mr. Chen, from Yichang in China’s Hubei province, surprised passengers on a nighttime flight with an unusual gesture. Before takeoff, he brought earplugs and apologized in advance in case his 8-month-old baby cried during the trip.
The man was traveling with his wife, mother, and 2 young children to Guangxi for a family vacation. He had bought 100 pairs of earplugs and handed out more than 20 to those sitting nearby. His intention was to reduce any inconvenience, especially during takeoff and landing.
In the end, the baby cried only briefly, and most passengers responded with smiles. On the return trip, Chen gave the remaining earplugs to the crew so they could distribute them if needed ✈️
