Evelyn was only 4 months old when a tumor in her spinal cord left her paralyzed for life.
Her father, Brad Moore, never stopped thinking about how to give her something the disease had taken away: the feeling of walking. He didn’t invent it from scratch. He found the Upsee, a harness created by Debby Elnatan for her own son with cerebral palsy, which connects the child’s feet to those of the adult supporting them.
With that system strapped to his shoes, Brad began to walk and, step by step, Evelyn’s feet moved alongside his. It wasn’t her walking alone, but neither was it simply him carrying her: it was a shared rhythm between father and daughter, a movement they could finally feel together.
