Afraid of spiders? In Australia there is the “spider rain”, a phenomenon that occurs twice a year

Let your arachnophobic friend know that they shouldn’t even think about going to Australia in spring-summer 😣

The phenomenon known as Ballooning or “angel hair” occurs twice a year in some parts of the country, where millions of spiders descend from the skies like a kind of parachute.

This happens because there is a massive migration of arachnids to avoid overpopulation in a single place. For it to happen, the species climbs to high areas and launches itself into the wind with its strands. Upon landing in a safe place, such as bushes and trees, they begin to weave their webs, which look like a white blanket.

Although it seems terrifying, the Linyphiidae species are very small and non-venomous, so it is not dangerous for humans, although many who come across this “spider rain” would run away in fright 😨
