Annette King didn’t think twice: she settled the baby against her arm and brought the bottle close.
She’s a wildlife rehabilitator, and her workday includes tasks like this: holding a baby groundhog, patiently waiting for it to latch onto the nipple, and watching it drink milk with its little paws resting in her hand. The tiny animal, with its thick brown fur, snuggles up as if it knows it’s safe there. On a blanket covered in pink flowers, the work looks more like a scene from a fairy tale than an office.
The video, which shows the whole moment, sparked a flood of comments: “I will never forgive my school counselors for not telling me this was a career option”. Another user went even further: “When people ask why we exist, it’s for this: to help the planet flourish”.
And you, how many times have you wished your job were like this?
