The Municipality of Concepción, Chile, relaunched its “Do Not Feed Pigeons” campaign, and residents are divided. 🕊️⚠️
Ordinance 6/2024 has been in effect since last year, but only now has the municipality begun promoting it widely after detecting an increase in medical consultations for illnesses linked to these birds: respiratory problems, allergies, and dermatitis.
Mayor Héctor Muñoz set up educational stands at several strategic points around the city. The fine can reach up to about 350 dollars, although for now the campaign is only informative and there is no date for applying sanctions.
