“At last, the news I have fought and prayed for has arrived”: Paris Hilton celebrates the closure of the boarding school where, at 16, she was confined and forcibly drugged

Paris Hilton, 45, was just 16 when she entered Provo Canyon School in Springville, Utah.

There, as she alleged for years, she was subjected to unnecessary physical restraint, prolonged isolation and forced medication, a pattern that authorities have just confirmed in an official investigation.

The Utah Department of Health and Human Services revoked the facility’s license this week after finding that it failed to meet minimum safety requirements: aggressive physical contact toward minors, unnecessary restraint and documented episodes of neglect.

The boarding school has 15 days to appeal, but it must cease operations before August 6, 2026 and can no longer accept new students.

Hilton, who began telling her story in 2020 and went on to testify before the United States Congress, celebrated the news with a phrase that sums up two decades of struggle: “At last, the news I have fought and prayed for has arrived”.

Weeks earlier, she had returned to the place where it all happened, this time to support other families reporting the same abuse.
