Brazilian forward Igor Thiago. According to what went viral on social media and in an ESPN segment, the player had gone around 12 months without being able to see his mother due to the distance and his career in Europe.
The production team prepared a surprise for him during an interview: while he was talking about how difficult his childhood had been and everything his mother sacrificed for him, she appeared unexpectedly.
“It is an eternal love. I can’t believe she’s here, it comforts my heart. I needed her here, I truly needed her. My mother is everything to me”, said the Brazilian.
Igor was completely broken down, started crying, and hugged her for several minutes. The moment went viral because he always says that his mother was key to him not giving up soccer in the worst moments of his life.
