MLS soccer produced one of the most unusual celebrations of the year in FC Dallas’s win over the San Jose Earthquakes. The hero was young forward Sam Sarver, who scored the decisive 3-2 in stoppage time and unleashed total madness.
After scoring the dramatic goal, Sarver ran toward one of the stands to celebrate with the fans. In the middle of the chaos, a can of beer fell from the stands onto the field and he decided to drink it right there.
He kept celebrating while his teammates piled on top of him, creating a human “submarine”. The images quickly went viral because of how surreal the moment was and because of the spontaneity of the celebration.
The episode became a trend on social media because a scene like that is rarely seen in a professional match: beer flying from the stands, players piled up on the grass, and a celebration completely out of control after a dramatic goal.
