The mini rooms rented for one dollar in China have gone viral thanks to a video by a student who showed in detail what these extremely cramped spaces are like, with a width of just 60 centimeters, where the television can only be watched from the side and the mattress barely fits when placed parallel to the wall.

Standing in front of the door, the young woman admitted her surprise at how narrow the entrance was and commented “Narrower than me”, while inside she showed that the room is only equivalent to half a latrine, and warned that sleeping there could cause her “adhesive capsulitis”, also known as frozen shoulder, because of the total lack of movement.

Despite these extreme conditions, the tiny rooms  include amenities such as a private bathroom and television, and cost only 8 yuan a night (around 1.10 dollars), a price that surprised the student, who could not believe that people had to live in such reduced spaces because of the urban housing crisis in China.
