Former English footballer Ian Wright experienced one of the most emotional moments of his life during a television interview.
While speaking about his difficult childhood and the people who helped him move forward, his former secondary school teacher, Sidney Pigden, suddenly appeared, the man who always believed in him when he was just a troubled teenager.
Wright was left frozen when he saw him, because he thought he had died years ago. The reaction was completely genuine and ended up moving millions of people.
Ian immediately stood up, hugged him through tears, and kept repeating in surprise: “You’re alive”. Years later, the former player said that Pigden was a fundamental figure in his life, because he supported him in the hardest moments and gave him confidence when no one else did.
