According to accounts published by British media, Cassano said he had an arrangement with a waiter to receive pastries after his nights out. The episode reinforced his reputation as a talented, impulsive and unconventional footballer.

His name has also been linked with Cristiano Ronaldo because of his public criticism of the Portuguese star. Although Cassano had a distinguished career, his remarks about Ronaldo prompted harsh responses from the star’s entourage and fueled a media rivalry.
