Cicinho, former Brazilian full-back for Real Madrid, spoke with La Gazzetta dello Sport about his addiction to alcohol:
“It all started at 13, at a party with friends. I tried beer and fell in love with it as if it were a woman. The older I got, the more I drank. At 17 I even started smoking cigarettes. But that was how I lived football: I wanted to reach the top, earn a lot of money, and have fun”.
“When I arrived at Madrid I bought cars, clothes, and organized parties at home. I went to bed at four in the morning and at eight I was at training, drunk. Before going out, I drank four coffees and smoked a pack of cigarettes to hide the smell of alcohol”, the former footballer concluded.
