Former U.S. footballer Carli Lloyd firmly responded to an offensive comment about her appearance while working as a commentator at the 2026 World Cup. The two-time world champion, who is pregnant with her second child, was mocked on social media after criticizing Christian Pulisic’s performance.
The forward said that he would now have time to rest following the U.S.’s elimination, to which Lloyd replied on X: “you rest when your playing career ends. Period”.
Immediately afterward, a user replied to her: “Looks like you’ve been resting very well lately, big girl”. Lloyd did not stay silent: ‘I can tell you’re quite the gentleman,’ she replied sarcastically, and followed up by asking whether he always disrespected women while hiding behind a keyboard.
