She found it lying there, wet and barely strong enough to hold its head up.
A newborn duckling, alone and on the verge of losing the battle. She took it in her hands and decided she wasn’t going to let it go so easily. She took it home, dried it, fed it, and gave it warmth when the world outside hadn’t.
