He found dozens of live octopuses piled up in bags and decided to buy them to rescue them: He helped them recover and finally returned them to the sea

No one listened to him, but he didn’t just stand by.

During a trip to Japan, Ali Safari, an animal rescue volunteer, stopped in front of hundreds of vendors selling live octopuses in bags. The animals were not in good condition, and he tried to explain to them that it wasn’t right to keep them that way. However, no one took him seriously; some even laughed in his face.

Ali could have walked away and forgotten about it, but he chose something else: he paid for all the octopuses in one of the bags to try to save them.

When he got home, he carefully placed them in a container of water and installed a pump to keep it moving and help oxygenate it. Little by little, the octopuses began to recover. Once he was sure they were doing better, he made the final decision: to return them to the sea, their natural habitat.

I can’t explain the emotions you feel when you set them free. They are living beings, just like you and me, and they feel fear too, just as we do. It is our responsibility to care for them and make sure they are safe.

The story moved thousands of people on social media and became an example of empathy. Sometimes a small act is enough to change the world.
